MY


I have been working with adults, children and families in many different capacities for over 27 years in the St. Louis area.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State and my Master of Art in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. 


I am a Certified Nutritional and Integrative Provider for mental health, specifically for ADHD, Depression and Anxiety. This included Nutritional Psychology-how what we consume affects our mental health.

I am a Certified Mind Body Eating Coach through the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. Eating Psychology is the study of all the factors that influence the how, when, why, where, etc.  of eating. This is a unique approach to helping with food and body issues because it focuses on the behavioral, emotional, and environmental factors involved in the struggle. So, you may find that you have tried the latest diet or weight loss fad, maybe even had success, but still find your relationship with food or your body to be frustrating or all-consuming.

Bottom line, not only do I provide general counseling for anxiety and depression, but I have a special interest in assisting adults with eating and weight challenges and body image concerns. When off-the-clock, I enjoy traveling (you must own a passport to be my friend), gardening, game nights, reading, or snuggling with my dogs (AKA “the boys”).  I’m always down for a concert or doing anything that allows me to throw or wear glitter. I like to make sure there’s a little sparkle on me daily!

Statement of Faith

  • I believe there are many influences on how we feel emotionally and physically-thoughts, environment, exercise, faith/spirituality, food, sleep, stress, etc. All of these factors are addressed in sessions to gain a whole picture to best serve my clients. While I will not manipulate clients or force religion on them, let it be known I am a Christian, a Jesus follower and believe the Bible is the Word of God concerning the issues of life. **If you are not a Christian, we can still work together.  You are welcome to contact me to see if we are a good fit. I want to help anyone who is ready to make change.

    Let me step on my Soapbox for a minute:

    If I asked you if you’ve talked to God about your concern you are seeking counseling for (especially for food and body struggles), would any of these sound familiar?

    1.     You’ve never thought to bring God into this struggle

    2.    You think this issue is TOO SMALL for God because he has bigger issues to deal with in this world

    3.     Asking for help from anyone, including God, is just so hard

    If you would answer with any of those three, I’m here to remind you that as Christians, we have THE MOST POWERFUL source of help right at our fingertips. I’m here to help you tap into this awesome resource. God’s power is at work in us, and we can use it to help rid us of our sorrows, struggles, frustrations, etc. (Ephesians 1:17-20).  And by the way, since He cares for us and knows us so well, He already knows what you struggle with and He’s waiting for you to call on Him to help. He can do more than we could ever ask or imagine, including granting freedom from body shame and eating issues (as well as anxiety depression).

    I leave you with a prayer from Ephesians 3:16-21, so that you get why I want to help you find true and everlasting fullness:

    “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

    20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
